Brealey Foster & Co. Chartered Accountant
Brealey Foster & Co. has been based in the centre of Hinckley since 1961, we are a small family-run business headed by Ian Brealey who is a Chartered Accountant as well as a Company Director for several other businesses.
Life at Brealey Foster is very varied, we have clients from a small trader to a PLC, all of whom pride themselves in giving a fast turnaround as well as excellent customer service. We have clients who have been with us from when they started their business (When Ian’s Father Peter Brealey ran the Practice) through to retirement. George Brealey Ian’s son works in the practice. There is a structure of FCA, ACA, AAT qualifieds so the work experience is well supported. The firm features as a case study in excellence on Sage.com
We have had one to two students from SH finance and accounting for twenty seven years and find it benefits the practice as well as helping a Student to grow into an Accountant by the time they leave us. Students of the Accounting and Finance course have particularly benefitted with job interviews and offers from Big 4 and top twenty accountants and academic success. Other courses are welcome to apply.
The Student gets one-to-one teaching and therefore learns quickly how to understand and produce a set of accounts. We look for a student who has curiosity and likes to solve problems as well as a spark that we feel is needed. You must be able to listen, learn, and ask lots of questions; we like a student who enjoys a challenge and who is not a shrinking violet. You will have to be robust as well as a self-starter. The outgoing student trains the incoming one.

Key Information:
Salary: £20820
Hours: 35 hours /wk
Placement Duration: 13 months (1st July 2024– 31st July 2025)
Annual Leave: 20 days
Tasks centre around our services of preparing:
· Management Accounts.
· Accounts.
· Self-Assessment Tax Returns.
· Business Tax Returns.
· VAT Returns.
· Payroll
. Business Advice
as well as assisting with both Bookkeeping and Tax Advice.
Software we use are Sage and Taxcalc:
· Accounts Production.
· Business Tax.
· Personal Tax.
· VAT Filer.
Experience of which is not necessary, as training will be given in all software that will be required.
